    Project Overview

Forest Energy designed, built, and commissioned a 521.42 kWp grid-tied solar PV system at the ADvTECH Support Office in Sandton, Johannesburg. The bulk of the system was installed on ten purpose-built solar carports across the staff parking areas, with a further rooftop array on the main building. The carports were laid out so that every footing lines up with the existing parking bays, keeping the parking areas fully usable. The system consists of 841 x Canadian Solar 620 W Tier 1 modules feeding 4 x 100 kW Huawei grid-tied inverters, housed in a dedicated inverter enclosure and tied in at the site's 800 kVA minisub. It is monitored through a Bluelog logger with an on-site irradiance sensor. The installation was designed to SANS 10142-1, SANS 60364-7-712 and NRS 097-2 requirements.
