Kraaifontein, Cape Town
Forest Energy designed, built, and commissioned a 379 kWp hybrid solar PV system for Buh Rein Retirement Estate in Kraaifontein, Cape Town. The system comprises 10 x 30 kW Sigenergy hybrid inverters and 1 x 25 kW inverter, connected across nine tie-in points throughout the estate. It was engineered as a fully decentralised system, with every inverter monitored and managed through a single dashboard, and a dedicated fibre network providing reliable connectivity between all inverter locations. Critical facilities were provided with backup power, ensuring the estate and its residents can continue operating essential services during grid outages. The system is fully integrated with the estate's diesel generator and the City of Cape Town DNP3 interface through a Forest Energy-programmed PLC, providing seamless control and grid compliance.
